During the time as a Miss Universe, the United Nations invited me to become its UNFPA Goodwill Ambassador.

Since then I have been responsive to the issues of AIDS awareness in India, Female Reproductive Rights, and act as spokesperson for the Face to Face programme.

I am also actively involved with the United Nations Populations Fund on their 'Missing' campaign, profiling the declining child sex ratio in India.

I have worked on the HIV AIDS CAMPAIGN, as well as on the issue of female infanticide of India through the MISSING CAMPAIGN.

I support an NGO called PARIVAR NGO that provides housing and schooling in West Bengal to children.

I also support FRIENDS IN NEED SOCIETY in Bangalore which is an old age home and it also provides education for children.

I was awarded the Favorite face of a cause at the L'Oreal Paris Femina Women AWARDS 2012.
